DWR > Tiger Muskies return to Pineview Reservoir and other Utah waters

Approximately 10,000 tiger muskies were released back into Pineview Reservoir and other waters throughout the state on July 2, 2009. This is the first time tiger muskies have been stocked in Utah since 2005. A water that's never had tiger muskies in it before--Joe's Valley Reservoir will also receive fish.

One of the first signs of spring is the gathering of snow geese at Gunnison Bend Reservoir near Delta, Utah. Thousands of snow geese stop here as they migrate back to their summer nesting grounds near the Arctic Circle.

In 2009 DWR Northern Region biologists used a raft for the first time to survey fish populations in the Ogden River through the City of Ogden and found up to 2,000 brown trout per mile.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, in January 2009, moved 31 bison from the Henry Mountains to the Book Cliff region in Utah. This will become the fifth free-ranging bison herd in the United States.
